A new goods-to-man workstation
At KNAPP, ergonomic design has become an inherent part of considerations for system design. The new goods-to-man workstation incorporate a multitude of ergonomic aspects without the loss in performance. Due to the intelligent control system an error-free order preparation of up to 1,000 order positions per man-hour is possible all the same. The conveyors continuously supply new storage containers from the OSR or Speeder-System to the high-performance workstation where they are automatically directed to the picking positions. During order processing the operator is assisted by a visual guidance system; Pick-to-Light indicates how many articles are to be picked while Put-to-Light displays mark the target container. In addition, the container lighting shows the entire target position, thus ensuring error-free and ergonomic order processing.

High-speed, automated storage and retrieval systems such as the OSR and Speeder-Systems in connection with fast, ergonomically designed picking stations are the logical next step for conventional goods-to-man systems. They were developed to provide high product density for a large product range and maximal picking performance.
